Stephen started his professional career in audit with Deloitte before entering private client investment management with Brewin Dolphin plc, during which time he was invited to become a Fellow of the Securities Institute. Latterly, he managed financial planning for Bank of Scotland Private Banking in the North of England.
Many of his clients are professionals and directors of growing businesses, for whom he provides comprehensive support in respect of the overlapping needs of the individual, family and business, which change markedly from start-up to exit*, succession or retirement.
David has over 30 years' experience of working and advising within Financial services with most of his time spent advising the Medical profession, business owners and the retired. His breadth of knowledge and experience gives his clients the comfort that they are dealing with an experienced and knowledgeable and trusted adviser. Most of David’s clients therefore come from personal recommendations or professional referral.
Where appropriate, he consults with other specialists and works with clients’ other professional advisers, such as solicitors and accountants, in order to provide an integrated approach to advice on long-term objectives such as building & preserving capital and retirement & exit planning*, whilst continually reviewing the generation of income and capital growth in a tax efficient and flexible manner.
Chris has over 10 years’ experience in the financial and banking services. He started his career with Northern Rock specialising in mortgages and was a mortgage & protection adviser for the Leeds Building Society from 2013 to 2015. He joined the St. James’s Place Academy in April 2015 and, subsequently, Broad Chare Partners in June 2017.
Chris is an enthusiastic and conscientious professional, working with a number of young professionals and business owners to develop their financial plans and ensure that their affairs are as tax efficient as possible, whilst continuing his professional development towards Chartered Financial Planner status.
Elaine is responsible for managing business coming through the office, coordinating the team and providing our clients with a high level of personal service. She has worked in the financial services industry for over thirty years at Equitable Life, Bank of Scotland Investment Service, Bank of Scotland Private Banking and Lloyds Private Banking. Elaine has a wealth of experience, is highly organised and believes customer service should be second to none.
Dave joined the team in 2014 having worked in financial services for over 35 years. His important Paraplanning role in the business is to prepare in depth reports and to carry out performance analysis of existing schemes. His knowledge of the protection market is second to none and he has close working relationships with our third party providers.
Deborah provides valuable administration support to the whole team and ensures all marketing material is efficiently distributed to clients. She is responsible for updating client records and liaising with existing providers to obtain up to date information to enable detailed financial reports to be prepared. Deborah has over 12 years’ experience in the financial services sector.
Fiona joined the Practice in 2011 having gained many years’ experience as an executive PA, working in both Public and Private Sectors. Her main responsibility is to manage the Practice diaries to ensure everyone is where they should be at the right time. She also maintains regular contact with our existing clients and also contacts potential new clients to introduce the services the Practice can provide.
Debbie joined the Practice in 2009 and has seen the team grow from strength to strength in that time. Debbie has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry and, having previously worked as Practice Manager at Broad Chare Partners, has a deep understanding of the company, the team, many individual clients and the high level of personal service that we provide.
Debbie is now responsible for maintaining client records, drafting reports and correspondence and handling general administration.
Alison joined the Practice in August 2019 in her role as Administrator on a part-time basis. Alison has over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry and previously worked as a Practice Manager at another St. James’s Place Practice in Newcastle.

Having graduated with a Bachelor Honours degree in Media, Communication and Cultural Studies from Newcastle University, Lois joined the Practice in July 2017. Lois’s previous roles include online marketing, media communications and social media marketing management. She has experience in search engine optimisation, Google Analytics, event organisation and content writing. Lois’s main responsibilities include organising client events and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns, through both print and digital channels.
